I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
My vocational and academic experience spans 35 years. In this time I have worked in a variety of roles including residential work with children and families, as well as management roles within local authority Social Work Child Care Teams. My role within the team was to manage the residential children’s homes within the local authority as well as their child care community resources. I also managed a project for individuals with Acquired Brain Injury for a number of years. I have, as Curriculum Manager for the Health and Social Care section of a large Further Education College, managed their qualification delivery for Health and Social Care provision.
In 2005 I, together with a group of highly experienced tutors, set up Focus Training and Learning to bring together our vocational and academic experiences to provide a high quality of education to individuals working within the Health and Social care sector. The ethos of Focus Training and Learning is to understand the needs of the health and social care sector and deliver flexible opportunities to fit with the requirements of individuals and organisations. We have been very successful in achieving this.
In 2013 we added First Aid to our suite of qualifications and have expanded into the wider training market. This has been both challenging and exciting and Focus Training and Learning has risen well to this. This section of the business is now flourishing due to our high quality and personalised training delivered by very experienced trainers and assessors.
